Alexandra's fundraiser for Greater Manchester BloodBikes

Alexandra Williams is raising money for Greater Manchester BloodBikes
In memory of Abigail Maisie Boon

Climbing mount snowdon · 20 June 2026

Greater Manchester Blood Bikes is a charity operating in Greater Manchester that transports Blood, Plasma, Platelets, Samples, Vaccines, Donor Breast Milk (DBM) & any other urgently required medical items to hospitals and healthcare sites- at night, daytime weekends* and bank holidays. This service is provided completely free of charge by our amazing volunteers who all offer their time for no pay or reward, allowing the NHS to divert funds where they are needed most. We work alongside a network of other blood bike charities covering a large proportion of the country. All working from home, with no expensive office or unit to pay for, the donations we receive directly fund the operation of the service we provide.

Story

In June 2025, we lost our beautiful daughter, mother, wife and sister, Abigail. In her memory, our family will be climbing Snowdon to raise funds for Greater Manchester Blood Bikes.

Blood Bikes provide an incredible voluntary service, transporting urgent blood, medication, samples, and donor milk to hospitals and patients when it is needed most. Their work helps save lives every single day, and supporting this cause feels like a meaningful way to honour Abigail’s caring and selfless spirit.

Every donation will go towards helping to fund a new bike in Abigail’s name, allowing her memory to continue helping others for years to come.

Thank you so much for your support, kindness, and generosity.
