Why Donate?

Being a bit of sporting enthusiast, I have always enjoyed being physically active. I started the #couchto5K programme in April 2024 to gain fitness and since then have ran short distances on a weekly basis. Running the Manchester 10K in May will be my first ever Running Event and also the longest distance I have ran. My reasoning for taking part in the Manchester 10K and in the process, running for MND Manchester, holds a special purpose.

If you don't know me personally, I am a teacher within a Secondary School in Salford. Within our current schooling community, we sadly have families who have been directly impacted by MND. Additionally, in December 2024, my fiancée's close friend lost her dad to MND. Having this close connection alongside national coverage of Doddie, Rob, Ed and now Lewis' battle - I think it is so important to do my bit in raising awareness and giving MND Association - Manchester, the support and funds to help research and provide the care for families experiencing these struggles.
