Hiking 135km Hadrians Wall Path · 14 July 2024

Were a small family run Dog rescue. We rescue dogs from the racing industry and dogs who have been on death row in the UKs dog pounds. These dogs are no longer wanted, abandoned and sometimes left with no home or love. We find suitable homes for these unwanted dogs.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Between 14th -20th July, Me and 2 others are embarking on am adventure to trek the entire 135km length of hadrians wall. While doing so we are hoping to raise much need funds to help skylors animal rescue continue their care.

About Skylor's Animal Rescue:

They are a small passionate foster based dog rescue, non profit and run by a family of 3.

They rescue dogs from the pound unwanted and abandoned, pets who can no longer stay with their family and ex racing greyhounds straight from the track. We also help rescue and reunite dogs to their owners.

Their current kennels are wooden and are rotting. We need to replace them for better long lasting ones. As a small family run rescue we value your support and would be grateful for any money you can donate toward this.

Recently a few dogs that have come to them have required large amounts of veterinary care, causing a sky rocket in their vet bills. Any money donated would greatly help pay for all that care.

About Hadrians Wall;

The Hadrian’s Wall Path is an 84 mile (135 km) long National Trail stretching coast to coast across northern England, from Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in Cumbria on the west coast.

The National Trail follows the line of the Hadrian’s Wall UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing through some of the most beautiful parts of England – from rolling fields and rugged borderlands to the vibrant cities of Newcastle and Carlisle – with dozens of fascinating museums along the way.

Hadrian’s Wall was constructed by Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD and the Hadrian’s Wall Path is the only coast-to-coast Trail to follow a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Although only a few sections of the Wall remain visible above ground, the remains of Roman forts have been excavated to give visitors a rich insight into life in Roman Britain. There are numerous museums on route, providing a fascinating insight into life in ancient England.

Highlights on the Hadrian’s Wall Path include the Roman Forts of Segedunum (Wallsend), Chesters, Housesteads and Birdoswald, River Tyne bridges, Whin Sill escarpment and the Solway salt marshes with their amazing wildlife.
