Story
As part of Drowning Prevention Week, we are asking our Stage 8 Competitive Swimmers, Rookie and Lifesaving Groups to complete a sponsored swim wearing socks on their hands and feet. This is help our swimmers become aware of the impact of swimming in cold water and how their hands and feet may feel swimming in a lake or river.
The Royal Lifesaving Society are the leading Drowning Prevention charity in the UK. This is particularly important to our Active Leeds Leisure Centre's as they are the ones in charge of our training and qualifications for our Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers.
We are asking swimmers to complete a 1 hour swim (with small rests if needed) to see how many lengths they can achieve, and ask family and friends to sponsor them.
Thankyou.
