On 10th June 2010 Bombardier Stephen Gilbert was sadly injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack whilst on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Stephen never regained consciousness from the blast and died with Jackie by his side on 26th June.
To commemorate Stephen in this the 15th year since his death, will be attempting to complete the North Yorkshire 300, a 300km cycling endurance event organised by Stuart Rider, the head mechanic at RedSky Bikes in Thirsk.
The 300km ride around North Yorkshire will be done solo and unsupported on a gravel bike, my aim will be to complete the event in under 24 hours.

All of the proceeds donated will go to Combat Stress in order to assist with the fantastic work they do in order help many veterans struggling with issues such as PTSD.
Once again, thank you.
Adam.
(Combat Stress are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.
For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
They’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, they’re there to help them tackle the past and take on the future.)
