إنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ فَعَسَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ أَن يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ (سورة التوبة الآية 18)

The mosques of Allah are only to be build and maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give zakah and do not fear any except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.

Masjid Omar Ibn Khattab was established in 2017 by a registered charity organisation in Manchester (Charity number: 326039). All of the charity's activities take place within the Masjid premises. The current building where the masjid is located used to be a residential building, which means the Masjid is operating through several rooms and floors. The extension project aims to add more space and create two floors as an open space hall for prayers, in addition to rearranging the other seven classrooms used for the Dar Al-Quran madrasa.

Masjid Omar Ibn Khattab serves the community by hosting prayers and Juma'a ceremonies. We also offer a variety of activities and educational opportunities for all ages, such as inviting lectures and Muslim Scholars (Ulama) to give talks and educate our Muslim community. These educational and Dawah activities provide our community with the necessary skills to gain a proper understanding of Islam. Another important role of our masjid is the Dar Al-Quran Madrasah, where we teach over a hundred students from all age groups, levels, and backgrounds every year. Additionally, we provide several training programs for Quran teachers in Manchester.
