This September, my brother and I are challenging ourselves to cycle from London to Paris over 4 consecutive days, in memory of my son, Hugo.

Hugo was born in December 2016, after a normal and healthy pregnancy. However, unexpected birth complications led to Hugo being born very poorly, and he passed away two days later.

I have chosen to raise funds for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Sands support mothers, fathers, family members and friends affected by the death of a baby, and have been immensely supportive to me. They also fund pioneering research, which is particularly relevant and close to my heart.

Regarding the ride, those who know me well will know I’m no natural sportsman, with my brother, Sean, inheriting all the fitness genes, so will be a genuine challenge and one I’m keen to tackle for such a great cause. A cold Parisian beer will certainly be enjoyed on arrival.
