Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

In October 2021 and after a year of worsening back and leg pain, I was diagnosed with a tumour very close to my spinal cord. Thankfully, my tumour was non-cancerous and operated on quickly, and I have since made close to a full recovery with no complications of a spinal cord injury.

However, many people are not so lucky and whether from a tumour or other cause such as a car accident or sports injury, end up with permanent spinal cord damage.

Aspire is a charity that does amazing work supporting people with spinal cord injuries, like assisting with housing, independent living, financial matters and general all round support. It's a cause that means a lot to me and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
