Great Scottish Run 2024 · 6 October 2024 ·

Since our re-launch in Nov 2018 we have focused on delivering programmes within Renfrewshire which fulfil our key objectives, answer the need of our communities and are aligned with the spirit of St Mirren FC’s own ‘Our Town Our Team’ ethos, putting our people first. We understand the social challenges many Renfrewshire residents face and we are committed to implement long term, sustainable positive change to help provide them with a brighter and more hopeful future. We understand the responsibility we have in our community, the important role that football plays in the lives of the people in it and the power our beloved stadium has as an engagement tool for the programmes we deliver. Developing positive and purposeful partnerships with local authorities, third sector organisations, commercial partners and fans is important to us and essential in helping us to choose the direction of our strategy going forward. Our work supports people of all ages, capabilities and backgrounds as we are entirely inclusive and fully aware, post pandemic, of the need now more than ever to help empower our people and rebuild more resilient and resourceful communities.

Story

I started work at the Foundation in February and the work they do in and around Renfrewshire for the community is outstanding. Most of you will know I am no St Mirren fan however the work they do for the people in Renfrewshire goes far beyond that.

The number of programs we offer is amazing, helping those with Additional support needs get involved in competitive football and New Scots who might not have the same access to facilities as others. The camps we run and after school clubs also provide free childcare for those in the community, and a chance for young people to develop their football skills.

Physical and mental wellbeing is also a focus at the Foundation with bootcamps offered for people at different levels. The foundation also runs the Menopause Goals program and the Paisley Men's Shed.

Any donations you give will go towards supporting these programs and could also provide an opportunity for the foundation to expand on them further. Also the more money that's donated the more pressure I'll feel on race day, so that too!
