Fundraising for Suicide Prevention UK

15,000ft Skydive in Salisbury on Sunday 17th November · 17 November 2024
Skydiving for charity is my way of honouring the memory of my late uncle, who we lost last September. I want to raise awareness to help others who feel they find themselves in a similar position. To take a line from the Linkin Park song, Shadow of the day, fronted by the late Chester Bennington, who himself took his own life, “Sometimes goodbye’s the only way”….That song can be interpreted in different ways but one that struck a chord with me following my uncle, and a feeling which I hope nobody else has to feel, or experience.
I’m not much of a runner or good at much that warrants donations, but what I am good at is being bloody scared of heights! I can’t think of anything more terrifying than jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft!
I hope to inspire others to seek help and support, showing that it’s okay to talk about mental health challenges. I’d imagine there isn’t many out there that haven’t had their struggles over the years, especially through covid. Every donation will go to contribute to resources for Suicide Prevention UK that can save lives and provide hope to those in need.
The Skydive will take place in Salisbury on Sunday 17th November where my uncle lived and also where I grew up. Feels kind of fitting in a strange way. Hopefully the weather holds out!
Anyway, if you’d like to donate, please do. Any donations will be welcome, no matter big (cough) or small….
