My 50 Mile Dons Cycle Challenge to Gillingham FC

Velo and Blue - Dons Cycle Challenge · 21 April 2025 ·
On Monday, 21 April 2025, I’ll be cycling 50 miles from Plough Lane to Gillingham FC, and it’s not just for the challenge of going the distance- just like the Dons on their road to promotion, as I cycle to watch them battle for three points! I’m doing this to raise funds for the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, a charity that transforms lives through sport, education, and community outreach.
Football is more than just a game. It has the power to bring people together, inspire confidence, and create real opportunities. That’s exactly what the AFC Wimbledon Foundation does every day.
They run free football sessions for young people in deprived areas, helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and provide a safe space for kids to play. They offer Walking Football for older adults, tackling loneliness and keeping people active. They even run Sporting Memories sessions, using classic sporting moments to bring people together and help those living with dementia and depression.
Beyond sport, they support young people with education, employability, and coaching courses to help them find their path in life. And during school holidays, they provide free activity programs and meals for children from low-income families.
This is a local charity making a real difference, and that’s why I want to do my bit to support them.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help AFC Wimbledon Foundation continue their incredible work.
If you love football, believe in the power of community, or just like the idea of me suffering on a bike for 50 miles, please consider donating!
Your support will help change lives, one kick, one conversation, and one community project at a time.
Thank you! 💙💛
