Story
Hello!
I'm sure most of you are aware that last year I ran the Robin Hood Half Marathon last year, clocking in just under 2 hours and raising a superb £190 in the process for the Children's Bereavement Centre. This year, I want to better both my time and my donation total, pushing for beyond £200.
I am again running in aid of the Children's Bereavement Centre. Based up in Newark but covering the East Midlands, they provide help and guidance to children and young people with the grieving process brought on by the death or terminal illness diagnosis of someone close. The loss of a loved one can be a hugely distressing experience for anyone, let alone a child, so the support the CBC provide is wonderful and vital.
How your donations will help the Children's Bereavement Centre:
- £25 could pay for one play therapy session for a child
- £50 could buy crafts and toys to help children express their grief
- £100 could pay for memory books to help children remember someone who has died
- £200 could pay for 8 sessions of one-to-one bereavement support for a child
Last year they helped:
- 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefited from 1:1 bereavement support, counselling and/or group activities
- Provided group activities included a 2-day residential camp, Family Groups, Father’s Day workshop, monthly Peer Groups, Xmas Party and Candlelight Service
- 111 professionals/parents & carers benefited from advice calls and 86 professionals benefited from Bereavement & Loss training to help better support 100s of locally bereaved families
Any donation, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciate by the team at CBC and myself.
Cheers everyone!
