Story
I’m really proud to be part of Team LOROS for the London Marathon 2026, and to be raising money for a cause that’s close to my heart.
It’s hard to put into words just how important LOROS is, and the incredible impact it has on so many people’s lives. It’s a charity that has supported multiple members of my family - my own grandparents, and my wife’s too. I’m running the London Marathon in their memory, but also to help ensure LOROS can continue its vital work at a time when fundraising is more important than ever.
No one ever expects to need the support of a hospice like LOROS. But when you do, it’s impossible to imagine what that experience would be like without their care, compassion, and dedication. LOROS is a part of the fabric of the community it serves—there for people when they need it most.
Alongside my personal experience, I also see the impact of LOROS in my professional life running Hortons Estate Agents. We’re often part of exciting chapters in people’s lives - buying their first home or moving somewhere new - but I also regularly speak to families selling the homes of loved ones after they’ve passed. Time and time again, they mention the support LOROS gave and how grateful they were. That consistent appreciation speaks volumes.
In fact, we’ve even helped sell properties where the proceeds were being donated directly to LOROS - a powerful testament to how deeply people value what this charity does.
My fundraising target is £2,000, and every single donation will help LOROS continue caring for over 2,500 patients and their families across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland each year. Your generosity truly can make a difference. Please dig deep if you can - no matter how big or small, every donation counts and means the world to those who rely on this incredible charity.
Thank you!
