Story
We are taking on the Angels United 7 Ground Ultra marathon — an incredible challenge across Greater Manchester, walking mile after mile between iconic football grounds including Gigg Lane and Old Trafford — but this is so much more than a physical test. Every step we take is for families who have experienced the heartbreak of baby and child loss. It’s for the children who should be here, for the parents who carry that loss every single day, and for a community that refuses to let them walk alone. This journey will push us to our limits, but it will never compare to the strength these families show daily. We’re walking with purpose, with love and with names in our hearts and as always written on our shirts — turning distance into awareness, pain into support, and steps into something that truly matters. 🩷💙
We will be stopping at:
Gigg Lane
Boundary Park
Seel Park
Bower Fold
Etihad Stadium
Peninsula Stadium
Old Trafford
Why We're Doing This
Angels United was founded on October 13th, 2020, by 13 dads brought together by an unimaginable shared pain: the loss of a baby or child, at any stage or age.
Out of that grief came a spark—a community built not just to honour their children but to support others going through the same heartbreak. What started as a football team has grown into a powerful support network.
Using the unifying power of football, Angels United helps to #BreakTheSilence around child and baby loss, creating a safe, understanding space for dads and family members to talk, grieve, and begin to heal.
This isn’t just about football. It’s about connection, community, and compassion. It’s about knowing someone is there to talk to—any time of day.
