Story
Father and son Adam and Ned are doing a tough cycling challenge across Ireland in September to raise money for Cure Parkinson’s. It will take us seven days to cycle from Malin Head on the north coast of Ireland to Mizen Head on the south coast. The total distance is 445 miles down the west coast, with a lot of hills!
The Cure Parkinson’s charity was set up nearly 20 years ago to fund groundbreaking research into treatments to slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s. The Cure Parkinson’s team is focused on repurposing existing drugs, so they prioritise research that is likely to lead to clinical trials within five years.
Cure Parkinson’s is now funding a number of drugs that are entering clinical trials and hopefully this will lead to novel therapies that will help to slow or stop the condition.
Adam and Ned have been training hard on the Purbeck hills (they’re surprisingly tough!) and hope that this will help us on the hills in Ireland. It would be fantastic if you would consider sponsoring us and help us to raise money for this important cause. Every single pound we raise goes to the charity (none of it funds the bike ride. We’re doing that ourselves).
