Story
On July 27th, I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life: walking 171 miles from Telford Shropshire to South Stack Lighthouse in Anglesey, Wales. Over five days, completely on my own walking through the Welsh mountains to show that no matter how dark life can feel, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
I’m doing this to raise money for M.A.T.E. (Men And Their Emotions), a charity dedicated to supporting men’s mental health. Too many men suffer in silence, believing they have to face their struggles alone. Every day, people battle anxiety, depression, loneliness, and other mental health challenges behind closed doors, and I want to do something that helps make a difference.
This walk will test me both physically and mentally. There will be long days, tired legs, blisters and moments where I’ll want to stop. But those challenges are temporary, while many people live with mental health struggles every single day.
Every mile I walk is for the men who feel they have no one to talk to. If this challenge encourages even one person to reach out for help, or raises vital funds for M.A.T.E. to continue their incredible work, then every step will be worth it.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be incredibly grateful. If you can’t donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world.
Thank you for your support. Together, we can help remind men that it’s okay to talk, it’s okay to ask for help, and they never have to face life’s challenges alone.
