Story
Hey everyone!
We are going to be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the Malki Foundation UK this April, and here's why...
The Malki Foundation is an incredible organisation, fighting for an amazing cause in providing vital therapies for special needs children in Israel. Since 7 October 2023, this has become a more important cause in ensuring the livelihoods of children and families remain uninterrupted in times of crisis.
I'm Ollie, and I am in my first year of teaching Jewish Studies at JCoSS. One of the main reasons I became a teacher at JCoSS is because I care very deeply about the welfare and success of children with disabilities, whether it is physical or neurodiverse. Whilst I love running and use it as a distraction from the world and a means of pushing myself and breaking the limits I thought I had, I care most about raising money and awareness for children who are less able than others. Malki is an incredible organisation and it is an honour to run for such an amazing cause that is close to my heart.
I’m Adam, and having experienced first-hand how life-changing this type of support can be during my Israel tour in 2019, I embraced the opportunity to run for such an important cause. This is also a special run for me, as I never imagined being able to run more than 5 kilometres just 3 years ago... especially having had ACL reconstruction surgery and intense physio over the past 2 years. Being able to change lives, and hopefully inspire others to do the same, is what motivates me to do this run!
Thank you everyone who supports our run, and even those who don't, as just making yourself aware of such an incredible charity and the need for it will do its part in making the world a better place!
