A year fundraiser

The charity raises funds to install benches in public places raising the awareness of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. Each bench, that is lit up at night, has details of organisations able to listen and help in times of need

Story

In May of this year, Juke, who was a big part of our lives, and who our children loved as a brother, sadly felt this life wasn’t him for him any more. He’s left a big hole in a lot of people’s lives and we miss him deeply.

In honour of his and many others lives, Leigh and I are doing a year of fundraising. All of the money raised is going to the suicide prevention charity, Legend on the Bench, which I am proud to have been asked to be a Trustee.

The charities aim is to get benches put into local parks, where people can go and sit in their dark moments. The benches will have telephone numbers available, to call at any time, and on the other end of the phone are people who are always ready to talk, listen and help.

Legend On the bench has a mission to combat mental health issues and suicide, by providing resources of support to those in need.
