Story
In 2024, I took on what I thought was the stupidest challenge of my life: completing Rat Race’s The Wall ultramarathon.
Then I saw a 100-mile ultramarathon. And naturally, I signed up for it in 2025—because why stop at 70 when you can suffer for 100?
Originally, I wasn’t planning on fundraising. Like last year, I wanted to focus on the personal challenge without the extra pressure of feeling I might let people down if I couldn’t finish. But life shifted.
Recently, Alzheimer’s has impacted my family in a way I never imagined. Watching someone you love change in front of you is heartbreaking—and Dementia UK has become a lifeline for many families like mine.
So, a few weeks out from the race, I made a last-minute, slightly nervous (possibly sleep-deprived) decision to turn this into a fundraiser.
If you’ve got any spare change and feel like supporting either my questionable life choices—or, more importantly, the incredible work Dementia UK does—I’d be truly grateful.
No pressure at all to donate. I’ve decided to pile the pressure on myself instead. Thanks so much for reading.
Much love,
