adidas Manchester Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Friends of Serenity aims to preserve and protect the health of sick pregnant women and those who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death in particular but not exclusively by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, Serenity Suites and equipment at East Lancashire Women and New Born Centre not normally provided by the statutory authorities. We work hard to support newly bereaved parents through the provision of memory boxes and miscarriage keepsakes. By dressing their babies we hope to make distressing and devastating time a little more comforting by taking the pressure off them. These are provided in East Lancashire and throughout the country on public requirement. Additionally, we strive to provide qualified information by any means appropriate on the 2nd most common chromosome disorder Trisomy 13.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for this charity that our closest friends, Robyn and Stephen chose. Friends of Serenity helped them greatly through the most difficult time of their lives when their first born, Freya Rae Chapman was born sleeping on 15th June 2024, weighing 6lb 6oz. The news devastated everyone who knows Robyn and Stephen, and we instantly wanted to help keep Freya's memory alive.

To some people, this is a situation they will never have to navigate but unfortunately, this is far more common then people know. The charity help bereaving parents spend some precious days with their baby in suitable surroundings, giving them the emotional support they need at all hours. This is invaluable and the memories made in these precious few days after are truly treasured forever!

Please help me raise some money to not only say thank you to the charity for helping our friends, but to also help future parents in this difficult time. I am training as hard as I possibly can, covering 25 miles a week and this will only get more as the Marathon gets closer!

Any amount is greatly appreciated from us, Robyn and Stephen, their family and close friends and the charity!

Thank you
