Story
London Marathon 2026
I am raising funds for Breast Cancer Now, a charity that can help so many people affected by Breast Cancer, and help research better treatments into the future.
I will being running (or at least trying to) complete the historic London marathon in memory of my sister (Louise Mallender) who sadly passed away in 2017 as a result of breast cancer.

When I applied last year, I was unsuccessful in the ballot, and was further unsuccessful when applying via Breast Cancer now, so I was added to a waiting list.
6 months passed, and I assumed I was not successful, until I received a phone call to ask if I wanted to participate! - 6 weeks before the start of the event!!!!
I have been doing light training in preparation for the Manchester half marathon in October, but this was a huge step up!
I figured that it was worth the challenge, and I will give it my best shot, there are people faced with much heavier challenges than me.
As a pledge to the charity, I need to raise £2500, which is a challenge in its own right, especially with such short notice, but every donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your generosity and having a read of my story.
Right, I better go for a run!
