Story
Three and a half years ago, I made a crucial decision to drastically change my life and lifestyle. I had hit rock bottom, unable to find a way out, and it felt like my only options were facing death or some serious irreversible health issue.
After intense soul-searching, making significant changes, and receiving help and guidance from those closest to me, I slowly emerged from the dark place that had enveloped most of my adult life. This transformation profoundly impacted me and those around me. The benefits of these changes and new habits have been truly amazing. I have met fantastic people and received support from individuals I never thought I deserved to be around. Although I still believe in the importance of perseverance through good and bad days, the truth is, it all comes down to mental health.
I now manage myself daily, adhering to rituals that keep me on the right path and in control of my inner struggles. This is a lifelong commitment, but I'm happy with it because the benefits are outstanding. I can honestly say I’m in the best place of my life and have many people to thank for it.
Wellbeing plays a massive role in this journey. It's a state of mind, not defined by body type or appearance. It can be as simple as a morning meditation or a daily mile run. The key is finding what works best for you to manage your mental health. The dark days will pass, you just have to push through and find your way. There is help available.
This is why I feel I need to give back to those in need and the community. I will be participating in the Three Peaks Challenge within 24 hours with friends and like-minded individuals to raise funds for Norfolk and Waveney Mind. They do incredible work supporting those in need.
Climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales – involves trekking around 26 miles and climbing almost 3,000m. That’s equivalent to ten times up the Eiffel Tower! Doing so within 24 hours is a grueling but popular challenge, and if you’re keen to take it on, we’ll be with you every step of the way. This years challenge takes place Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th August 2024.
Your small donation to help me reach my target would be greatly appreciated and will support a fantastic cause.
If you need someone to talk to or help, please feel free to reach out.
Big love to you all x
