Story
I’m walking the 3 Peaks in my work gear, boots and all. Not for fun, but for purpose.
As a teenager, I didn’t have it all figured out.
Like many young people, I felt the pressure, to do well at school, find the right path, be good at everything... and still somehow know what I wanted to be.
I was lucky.
I found engineering. I stuck with it. And thanks to my parents giving me a good start, I found a path that gave me purpose.
But not everyone gets that chance.
That’s why I’m walking the UK’s 3 Peaks Challenge as fast as i can, wearing my everyday work gear, steel toe cap boots and all, to raise money for YoungMinds, the mental health charity for young people.
And also to raise awareness for the need to support young people entering engineering, helping them find purpose, not pressure.
I work for a start-up called iMaintain, where we’re building tools to support engineers on the shop floor. But this mission goes beyond tech, it’s about people.
If we can give just one young person the belief and support they need to start their journey, then every step in these boots will be worth it.
Support. Share. Walk with me in spirit.
