Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 17th March 2024 I've decided to put myself through my paces (again) and complete the Aldi Ashby 20 - and for those that don't know, that's 20 miles, not km! As a warm up I will also be doing a half marathon in February at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough.

A few years ago my Nanna was diagnosed with Dementia. Whilst she remains strong physically this syndrome can quickly result in loss of cognitive functioning: thinking, remembering, and reasoning — to such an extent that it interferes with a person's daily life and activities.

There is no known cure or treatment but leading a healthy lifestyle may help address risk factors that have been associated with these diseases.

Dementia UK are the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family.

Any spare amount you could gesture can go a long way to assist other families and individuals that have loved ones diagnosed with the same syndrome; and aid ongoing research in to new trials.
