I guess every team needs an old man and I certainly fit the bill for Team Tommy.

Over the weekend of 6 & 7 June, I will be pushing myself to complete the Chamonix challenge - Meet your Mountain. It's a bespoke challenge to reach as much elevation as possible in the Alps whilst covering the maximum distance over the two days.

This is the first of hopefully many chairman / CEO challenges that Tommy and I will undertake in aid of the Matt Hampson Foundation - although I guess Tommy will reserve the right to find someone else depending on how I fare.

Those of you who know me will be well aware of my vertigo issues and my lack of mountain activity even when I lived in Switzerland.

Equally, though, you will all know how much the Foundation means to me, how Matt’s Get Busy Living mantra resonates with me and how inspired I am by our beneficiaries whenever I meet them at the Get Busy Living centre or read about them online.

The Foundation is a very special charity and needs funding each year to ensure Tommy and the team can continue to help our beneficiaries with their daily challenges and help them adapt to the new circumstances.

I am honoured to represent them and will be motivated and inspired as I overcome my fears in the mountains to complete the challenge.
