In Loving Memory of Adam: A Courageous Life, A Lasting Legacy
Adam, our whole world, passed away on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, peacefully at Wheatfields Hospice. He fought a long and incredibly courageous 6-year battle against a rare disease called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei, or PMP for short.
We are setting up this page as a tribute to Adam’s immense strength, and to provide hope and light to others affected by this rare condition. All donations will be directed to Pseudomyxoma Survivor, the charity that supports the fight Adam so bravely led.
Adam's Fight and Legacy
Adam was diagnosed with PMP, Pseudomyxoma Perontini in February 2019 two weeks after our youngest son was born. Often described as "jelly-like cancer in the peritoneum", the disease started with a tumour on his appendix that ruptured, releasing mucin into his abdomen.
In 2019, he underwent a life-saving 14 hour Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and HIPEC (heated chemotherapy) in Basingstoke. This gruelling operation, called the MOAS (Mother of All Surgeries) removed his spleen, omentum, peritoneum, gallbladder, and belly button, along with mucin and tumours. For some people this surgery can be curative, and whilst it wasn't for Adam, it did give him and us precious years free of symptoms.
The disease sadly returned in 2023. There was hope of a bowel transplant but due to come complications this was put on hold. Adam was offered further surgery at Basingstoke, called a debulking surgery in 2024. It left him with complex health issues, including reliance on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), a permanent stoma and abdominal fistulas.
Despite being ruled out for a bowel transplant and facing constant risk due infections and bowel blockages, Adam never gave up hope. He was determined to keep fighting for his family.
Adam showed us all what it means to live life fully, even while battling incurable illness. His unwavering strength and love is his most enduring legacy to his boys.
