Great North Run 2026
Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
The greatest half marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. We've discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission and were working day in, day out to find a cure.

Story

Nick and I are raising money for Diabetes UK by taking on two incredible challenges this year – the London Landmarks Half Marathon and the Great North Run. We are doing this for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts. Our amazing daughter, Ava, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just 3 years old. Now 14, she continues to show strength, resilience and determination every single day, and we couldn’t be prouder of her.

We are proud to support Diabetes UK, the leading charity for people living with diabetes in the UK. Their vision is a world where diabetes can do no harm. They provide vital support and information to individuals and families, campaign for better care and treatment, and fund life-changing research into new treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Diabetes UK also works to raise awareness, improve access to healthcare, and ensure that everyone affected by diabetes gets the care they deserve. They offer helplines, local support groups, and resources to help people manage their condition day-to-day, as well as funding groundbreaking research to improve lives and prevent future diagnoses.

As a family, Diabetes UK has supported us from the very beginning of our Type 1 journey, and now it's mine and Nick's turn to give something back. Every donation will help make a real difference to millions of people living with diabetes across the UK.

Please help support us by donating what you can!!

Thank you

Love
