Story
One of the highlights of my year is being part of the Martin Moran Foundation Programme, which enables young people who would not normally have the opportunity to access mountain adventures, to do exactly that.
Mountain adventures have been a part of my life for so many years. As I reach Scottish bus pass age, I would like to celebrate my big birthday (on 29th March) in Scotland by raising some funds to facilitate these young people to attend a MMF course.
Accordingly I'm planning a sponsored continuous journey by bike, and on foot, across mainland Scotland's west to east extremities, whilst taking in all the nine 4000'ders. I will set off from the most westerly point of (Corrachadh Mor at Ardnamurchan) around 28th March and hope to reach the most easterly (Keith Inch near Peterhead) some 250 miles later, by around 10th April. For those people that know me well, this will not be a race but a Pennington Pedal and Plod in the Scottish Highlands
If you're prepared to contribute, every penny counts and all proceeds will got to the Foundation.
