Story

Help Me Support MAB Community Services ❤️

More than 13 years ago, I started at MAB Community Services as a per diem direct care staff member. At the time, I never could have imagined where that job would take me—or just how much this organization would become a part of my life.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside MAB, take on new challenges, work across different programs, learn from some incredible people, and see our mission from so many different perspectives. This week, I was incredibly proud to officially step into the role of Chief Advancement Officer, after serving in the role on an interim basis since April.

It’s been a full-circle moment that has made me reflect on just how much MAB has given me. This organization didn’t just give me a career. It gave me opportunities to grow, challenged me to become a better leader and person, and introduced me to people who have changed the way I look at the world. After all these years, this mission is still incredibly near and dear to my heart.

And the reason I’ve stayed for more than 13 years is simple: the people we support.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand what the right support and the right opportunity can mean in someone’s life. I’ve watched people get their first jobs and discover what they’re capable of. I’ve seen young people build confidence and skills as they prepare for adulthood. I’ve seen people who are blind or visually impaired gain greater independence, and adults with disabilities find connection, purpose, and belonging in their communities.

Those moments are what MAB is all about—and they’re why I’m asking for your help.

Every gift helps create more opportunities like these. It supports innovative programs, employment opportunities, specialized education, accessible technology, community living supports, and so much more for children and adults with disabilities across Massachusetts.

If you’re able, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider making a donation. No gift is too small to make a difference. And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this page with your friends, family, or network would mean just as much.

After more than 13 years, I’m incredibly proud to call MAB home. As I step into this next chapter, I’m excited to have the opportunity to give back to an organization that has given so much to me—and to help make sure MAB can continue creating opportunities, independence, and brighter futures for the people we support for many years to come.

Thank you for supporting a mission—and a community—that means more to me than I can put into words. ❤️
