Story
Tomorrow I’m setting off from Stone to Stonehenge, cycling around 180 miles over three days to raise money for the Haywood Foundation. As a local GP, this is a cause that feels very close to home. Many of the people I see in surgery are also cared for by the teams at Haywood Hospital, and I know how much difference their support can make when arthritis, persistent pain or other musculoskeletal problems start getting in the way of normal life. Some of you reading this may have been looked after at Haywood yourselves, or know someone who has.
So, in a moment of either admirable commitment or questionable judgement, I have agreed to cycle 180 miles to Stonehenge to help support the Foundation’s work.
If you can spare a few pounds, I’d be hugely grateful. And if you happen to be one of my patients, please don’t feel under any pressure to donate. A good-luck message, a wave, or simply sharing the page is just as welcome.
Stone to Stonehenge. 180 miles. Three days. One very worthwhile local cause and, almost certainly, a rather sore backside.
