My name is Adrian Fente and as an avid trumpet player, my dream is to share the joy of playing brass instruments with everyone. I have been playing the trumpet for six years and participated in many concert bands, orchestras and jazz ensembles, but never side-by-side with people with disabilities, due in large part to the physically demanding nature of blowing into brass instruments and their heavy weight. To begin to address the issue of individuals with disabilities not being able to participate in musical ensembles, I have created a digital trumpet called the Trumpet Genie. Combining computer science, engineering design and musical principles, The Trumpet Genie sounds similar to a traditional brass trumpet but it does not require airflow and is much easier to hold.

I am passionate about creating accessible musical instruments. Drake Music (DM), a leading organization in England harnesses technology to enable people with disabilities to create music that resonates deeply.
