HomeStart Charity Shop Refurbishment
Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. We are there for parents when they need us the most because childhood can’t wait.
As a Trustee, I am raising funds to help refurbish the HomeStart Charity Shop. The work being done by volunteers from Baines Lodge of Freemasons. We need to purchase light fittings, shelving, a new counter, a new window display, new work surfaces and storage.
Charity shops are far more than just places to find a bargain. They're vital community hubs, offering a lifeline in numerous ways.
Every purchase and donation directly funds our crucial work. Our shop is a powerful engine for positive change.
By giving pre-loved items a new home, our shop significantly reduces waste and promotes a circular economy. We help divert textiles and other goods from landfills, lessening our environmental impact.
In times of economic hardship, we offer access to affordable clothing, household items, and furniture, ensuring that everyone can meet their basic needs.
We serve as a social hub, fostering a sense of belonging and connection. We offer volunteering opportunities, combat social isolation, and provide a welcoming space for people from all walks of life.
We also support local projects and initiatives, directly benefiting their surrounding communities.
By donating, shopping, or volunteering at our shop you're not just getting a good deal – you're making a real difference.
Your help will be greatly appreciated and on behalf of those your money will help, but you'll never meet, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
