Story
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored me for the BHF London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride! We raised a fantastic £729, and your support (especially Sylvie xxx) really meant a lot.
The ride itself was a challenge! Half of it was pouring rain, making the trails super muddy, especially with so many riders (particularly in the technical sections). The final climb was brutal - steep, rocky, and rutted. Like everyone else, I had to get off and walk that one! The descent was no picnic either, with clogged tires and basically no grip. I stayed upright, but I saw plenty of crashes!
Despite the conditions, I finished in a very respectable 8 hours 11 minutes (6 hours riding time). You can see the full ride here: https://www.strava.com/activities/12467067230 - pretty happy with that for my first attempt!
Huge thanks to all the BHF volunteers for putting on such a well-organized event. Hats off to everyone involved!
Anyone up for joining the adventure next year?
