Why We’re Raising Money for Meningitis in Memory of Joel

On the 1st December 2005, our beautiful son Joel passed away from meningitis at just 13 months old. Not a day goes by without thinking of him, and this year marks what would have been his 21st birthday on the 8th October 2025—a milestone he never got to reach.

To honour Joel’s memory and raise awareness of the devastating impact meningitis can have, I’ll be completing a skydive on the 20th September. It’s a leap not just from the sky, but from the heart—driven by love, grief, and hope. Hope that through fundraising, we can support vital research, improve early diagnosis, and help prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak we did.

This fundraiser is a tribute to Joel’s life, however short, and a way to turn pain into purpose. Every donation helps us move closer to a future where meningitis no longer steals lives so young.
