Anyone that knows me will be aware that my mum suffered a severe stroke in the summer of 2023. This left her with a life changing brain injury, aphasia, and without the use of her right side limbs. As you will imagine, this has been incredibly tough for her and for the whole family as we adjust to our new normal.

The specialist stroke nurse who has been allocated to us by Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland, has been a great source of support and has helped us to navigate my mum's recovery and adjustment to her new capabilities. She also continues to be a support to my dad and the rest of the family as my mum's care and support network. Her support has been invaluable to us and I'm sure will be into the future as we support mum towards living her best life going forward.
