Climb for Freedom - Kilimanjaro Challenge 2025

Adrian Edwards is raising money for International Justice Mission UK

Climb for Freedom - Kilimanjaro Challenge 2025 · 12 October 2025 to 21 October 2025 ·

A passionate team of IJM champions are undertaking a challenging six-day climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, via the Rongai route, all to raise vital funds to help stop slavery and violence across the world.

Story

Hi! Thank you so much for joining me to support the amazing work done by IJM. They really make a difference... Whether they are investigating and going with local police on operations to rescue trafficked children from the most unimaginable exploitation, giving ongoing support for victims, or the legal team working to help prosecute those responsible... this is a charity that is organised, effective, and makes a tangible impact on people's lives.

I'm privileged to be joining an amazing little group of people seeking to raise funds for them by doing something both fun and rather challenging - climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in October.

After a brief visit to see some of IJM's work they are doing in Kenya, we'll be heading to Tanzania. From there we will begin trekking up the Rongai route from the north side for four and a half days. The final day of ascent begins at 12am, aiming to summit Uhuru peak at 5,895 metres above sea level, and then head back down the south side of the mountain over one and a half days. So, thank you for donating as little or as much as you are able to this very worthy cause. (All the donations go to the charity, as I'm funding the trip myself.) - Adrian

UPDATE:

Once I'm on the mountain there won't be much mobile signal, if any. But you'll be able to track the tour guide, Ben's GPS transponder here:

We'll be on the mountain from Tuesday 14th to Sunday 19th October. We start the final ascent for the summit on Saturday at midnight (which will be Friday 10pm in the UK).

Climb for Freedom 2025 is raising funds for one vital reason: to help stop modern slavery and violence around the world. 50 million children, women and men are held in slavery today.

Your support now will help IJM continue this crucial work to stop slavery and violent oppression for good.

International Justice Mission is a global organisation working to stop slavery and violence. IJM works with local authorities and partners to:

> Bring people to safety

> Support survivors with trauma-informed care

> Hold perpetrators to account

> Strengthen justice systems so that people are protected in the first place

IJM has worked with authorities and partners to bring over 98,000 people to safety, and seen slavery and violence decrease by 50-86% in nine places around the world. They won't stop until all are free.
