12 - 19 April: 8 marathons in 8 days, 8in8foram8te

26 April: London Marathon

10 May: Leeds Marathon

After 15 marathons in 15 weeks — and the incredible wave of support that followed — one question kept coming up: “What’s next?”

Truthfully, I wasn’t planning another challenge — until MNDA offered me a place in the London Marathon 2026. It was a huge honour. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

But at first, I was going to turn it down.

Why? Because I didn’t want to come back asking for more. I didn’t want to take advantage of the love and generosity you gave me. To this day, I still get emotional thinking about what we achieved together.

But then I remembered my why: What MNDA does for those living with MND. For those we’ve lost. For the carers who need a m8te. Because no one should carry the burden alone.

And I realised: I could push myself one more time — emotionally and physically. If I break, I break ;)

London Marathon is a privilege I will not take lightly. That is why I am running the 8 in 8 challenge first - To raise awareness for MND & prove to myself that I have earned that spot on the start line in London.

🧡 Why 8 in 8 for a M8te?

During my last challenge, I thought long and hard about my why. Not only for those suffering with MND, but also for those who — every single day — provide care, support, and love.

As I ran those marathons, I met more and more people who knew a m8te or a m8tes' family member living with MND or another degenerative but fatal disease. Some of them were carers. Some were fighters. And heartbreakingly, some passed away during that time.

The phrase kept echoing in my mind: “You don’t know what others are going through.”

For those living with these diseases, it’s devastating to go from independence to needing help for even the most basic tasks. MNDA works tirelessly to support those affected — and their families.

But there’s another side:

The loved ones. The m8tes. The families providing care day after day. Watching someone they love suffer while trying to hold on to “normal life.”

Facing other family members. Smiling for the children. Going to bed at night not knowing how the bills will be paid — or simply feeling lonely and powerless.

These are the m8tes I am running for. Not only to honour those we’ve lost, but to let every carer know: we are here for you.

🧡 Because no one should carry the burden alone. Ever 🧡

If you can donate — incredible.

If not, you can still do something powerful: Pick up the phone. Call that friend or relative who might be lonely, powerless, or just in need of a chat. You may never know how much that call means — but they will.
