In January 2025 my Dad (John Robert Thompson) was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer, he had a tough nine months of battling this cancer, spending 50% of this time in hospital.

He unfortunately lost his fight on 21st September 2025.

I am therefore completing 'Chase the Sun South' on 20th June 2026, this is a 205 mile bike ride cycling from east to west across the UK starting at sunrise and finishing at sunset (yes all in one day).
