Ronald McDonald House Charities UK is an independent charity providing free 'home away from home’ accommodation for families with children in hospital. Thanks to your donations, we are able to provide up to 530 families with accommodation each night so they can be together no matter what.

Story

For the first time, a brave group of AEW Architects’ team are taking on the Peak District Ultra Challenge between the 28th – 29th June 2025 in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provide a “home-away-from-home” for families of children being treated in nearby children’s hospitals. In these facilities families can rest, cook and spend time together and stay close to their children in very difficult circumstances. Their Houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.

In total, 24 members across our practice will take on the Ultra Challenge and will help raise much needed funds for the charity. This will involve a challenging walk around the Peak District, alongside other supporters. Our teams will complete either the full 100km, a 25km or a 10-mile route across the weekend. The full 100km route takes a northern loop of the Peak District through the outstanding beauty of the area.

Please donate to our team and support Ronald McDonald House Charities so they can continue to help over 6,000 families each year!
