Armed Forces T-Shirt Day fundraiser for Forces Veterans Afloat

Robert Greaves is raising money for Forces Veterans Afloat (FVA)
“Armed Forces T-Shirt Day”

on 1 September 2026

FVA refurbishes donated narrowboats, with the help of volunteers. Once finished, these are loaned to veterans of UK Armed Forces, for up to 2 years. The veterans are in need of alternative accommodation, either because they are homeless or living in somewhere that doesn't suit them mentally.

Story

We are pleased to announce that Armed Forces T-Shirt Day will this year be raising money in support of Forces Veterans Afloat, the charity that refurbishes donated narrowboats, which it loans to homeless veterans.

Many veterans are used to a life on the move and living on a boat gives them the freedom to be part of a community, while being able to move around the country if they want to. This is particularly advantageous for those veterans suffering PTSD. The charity rebuilds boats, but the boats rebuild lives.

You can choose to support Armed Forces T-Shirt Day and Forces Veterans Afloat by pledging £5 or more on this JustGiving page and wearing any military T-Shirt on 1st September, or by buying one of our official AFTD T-Shirts via armedforcestshirtday.org, which also includes a £5 donation in support of the charity. All donations and profits from T-Shirt sales go direct to Forces Veterans Afloat. 2026 T-Shirts will be available soon.
