Story

Unite for the Night: Sleep Out to end homelessness

On Friday 3rd October 2025, Nick Perry, Hannah Kennerley, Daniel Hunt and Emmanuel Fernandes from our UK Agilité team will be joining Glass Door for its biggest fundraising event of the year - the annual Sleep Out, taking place at Duke of York Square in Chelsea.

Sadly, homelessness is on the rise in London, and the cost-of-living crisis continues to intensify, putting even more people at risk of homelessness. At Sleep Out, our team members will be giving up their beds for one night to reflect on their experiences of homelessness and hear from frontline workers while also raising vital funds and awareness to help end homelessness in London.

While Sleep Out doesn't replicate the challenges of rough sleeping, it aims to raise awareness about the difficult conditions thousands of people experiencing homelessness in London endure on any given night.

By donating funds to Glass Door Homeless Charity, you can help someone find a route out of homelessness by providing them with shelter, support from their expert caseworkers, and the opportunity to either prevent homelessness or permanently leave the streets behind.

Please give generously.

The schedule for the night:

8:30 pm – Sleepers begin to arrive and find somewhere to bed down for the night.

10 pm – Chat to frontline workers. You'll have the opportunity to speak to Glass Door Homeless Charity caseworkers to learn more about homelessness in London and what we are doing to end it.

11 pm – Time to get some sleep. Sleepers wrap up in their warmest clothes and sleeping bags, and everything quietens down before an uncomfortable but reflective night's sleep.

5 am – Rise and shine. Sleepers are gently roused from their slumber.

6 am – After a massive thank you from the Glass Door Homeless Charity team and an update on the fundraising total so far, we will leave the square. You can go home knowing you've made a difference.

2025 marks 25 years of Glass Door

Based in London, Glass Door coordinates the UK's largest network of open-access services for people affected by homelessness. During the hard months of winter, Glass Door also provides emergency winter accommodation.

Year-round, people find advice and support to end their homelessness through trained caseworkers based at partnering drop-in centres. At their shelters, they offer a safe place to sleep and a nutritious hot evening meal and breakfast for up to 105 guests each night, to support people out of homelessness.

Their vision is a world where no one has to sleep on the streets of London, and they’re working every day to achieve this. By partnering with churches and community centres to provide shelter and support, Glass Door is committed to supporting people get—and stay—off the street.

They believe everyone has inherent dignity and welcome those who turn to them as our guests.

They are open to all, space permitting and do not require our guests to fill in long, complicated forms or prove they have a local connection to gain access to their services.

More details about Glass Door can be found at their website, or social media accounts: Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin.
