On Sunday 28 June 2026, a team of Base71's youth workers will be taking on the Barnsley 10K to raise funds for our Youth Zone.

Bse71 is changing lives for young people across Barnsley, and we are all incredibly proud to work there!

Base71 Youth Zone is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility for young people aged 8–19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs). Open seven days a week, it provides a safe, inspiring space where young people can spend time with friends, try new activities, and build confidence with the support of trained youth workers.

For just 50p per visit, young people can access over 20 activities a night – from sports and music to employability training, mentoring and wellbeing support. But the real impact goes far beyond activities. Base71 is a place where young people are heard, supported and encouraged to believe in themselves.

In a town where opportunities can sometimes feel limited, Base71 is helping to level the playing field – offering guidance, positive role models, and somewhere safe to go. It’s supporting young people to develop skills, improve their mental health, and build brighter futures.

We know first hand the difference that Base71 is already making in Barnsley and we hope you will support our run. Your gift will mean that the 7000+ members of Base71 continue to have access to this vital support.

If you can, please support our run and help make a real difference.

Thank you so much 💛
