In March, I lost my friend Juliette to meningitis B. This was incredibly sudden and unexpected and the loss of such an incredible person has affected all of us deeply. Juliette was a ray of sunshine and brought so much positivity and warmth into the lives of everyone around her. In September, I am going to be walking approximately 110km on the Camino de Santiago as a way to honour her, and as an opportunity to fundraise in support of the life-saving work done by Meningitis Research Foundation. Losing Juliette has highlighted the importance of further research, awareness, and vaccinations in order to prevent further tragic and avoidable deaths.
