I am chuffed to bits and honoured to be taking part in Courage on the Catwalk 2025 raising funds for local charity Friends of Anchor.

I’m no model, don’t wear make up, wear clothes for comfort not for fashion and I can’t walk in heels! I’m so far out of my comfort zone. But along with the other 23 ladies, I’m going to give it my all. 💪

In July 2022, after a routine mammogram with no symptoms at all, I was diagnosed with grade 2, invasive ductal Breast Cancer.

I was gobsmacked and terrified. It was 6 months shy of my 60th Birthday. My bucket list holiday and celebrations all cancelled.

I called it “Lionel” and wanted it gone asap!

I started Hormone Therapy (Letrozole🤢) and needed surgery and Radiotherapy. Recovery was slow.

Now I am feeling stronger, I am delighted to fundraise for Friends of Anchor. Everyone knows someone affected by Cancer and your donation will benefit so many folk in the North East of Scotland.

My Lionel is gone! 🥳 I got my bucket list holiday, slightly later than planned and Life goes on. I am blessed.

Please Please, go to your mammograms, check your boobs as early detection is vital. It could save your life.
