Update:
We did it, I did it!
Running the Royal Parks Half Marathon was a beautiful experience. It was moving to see so many people running for a cause or someone they love – and the incredibly creative and funny signs by those cheering us on from the sidelines.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported me so far, and kindly ask others, one last time, to consider contributing to my humble fundraising effort! It would mean a lot.
Cheers :)

My story:
I’ve been working with The Brilliant Club as a PhD Tutor in London primary schools and as a Mentor with undergraduates, and I’m now trying to contribute to their noble cause – to give everyone a fair chance at higher education, no matter their background – by running a half-marathon in London’s Royal Parks this October.
Higher education can be a daunting space to navigate for those without support or close role models. At least it was for me. Help me help them – and a whole community of committed PhD students – to inspire young people who feel unsure or insecure about stepping into their academic path.
Please support if you can. Believing in the power of education can feel a bit radical these days, so I’ll be immensely grateful for your contribution. Thanks so much :)
PS That’s Bobbi Gibb, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon in 1966 (!), when women weren’t allowed to officially enter the race.
