Story
Hi, I am Ahad Ali and I am collecting money for my lovely nephew, Shahzain residing in Pakistan. Please join the fight and help donate as much as you can.
"On the 1st of May 2023, as the sun began to rise, we found ourselves parked outside the hospital, our hearts tangled with a mixture of hope and apprehension. Little did we know, our lives were about to take a turn down a path we never imagined. When we emerged from those hospital doors, our arms cradled not just a baby, but a bundle of dreams and aspirations we had already begun to weave for our second son, Shahzain. He was a vision of innocence, with his fair skin, bright eyes, and the most heart-melting smile. Our elder son, Khizar, welcomed him with open arms and an overflowing heart, showering his baby brother with endless kisses and hugs.
Days turned into weeks, and Shahzain's presence filled our home with an aura of peace and joy. But amidst the bliss, a shadow began to creep in. What started as routine jaundice soon took a sinister turn. Concern etched lines on our faces as we rushed from one doctor to another, desperately seeking answers. And then came the dreaded diagnosis: biliary atresia. Our minds reeled with questions, each more terrifying than the last. What does this mean? How could this happen to our precious baby? And most importantly, what could we do to save?
Biliary atresia, we learned, is a cruel affliction that robs the liver of its function, leaving behind a trail of irreversible damage. Our Shahzain, barely a few months old, faced the prospect of a liver transplant—a chance at life dangling on the edge of uncertainty. With each passing day, our desperation grew. In a country where pediatric liver transplants were unheard of, our options dwindled, until a glimmer of hope emerged from across the border.
His skin, yellowish in color, already showing symptoms of his liver failing. His smile, however, hasn't stopped.
India, they said, held the key to Shahzain's survival. But how could we get there? How could we afford the surgery, the travel, the accommodation? The weight of our helplessness threatened to crush us until we found ourselves surrounded by a community of angels—friends, family, and strangers alike—who refused to let us drown in despair. With their unwavering support, the path to India began to clear, albeit fraught with obstacles.
Today, as we navigate the maze of bureaucracy and logistical nightmares, one thing has became abundantly clear: we cannot do this alone. We need all of you, every single one of you, to help us reach this daunting donation goal. Your donations are not merely contributions; they are the final pieces of hope that we so desperately need. Remember, your generosity has the power to transform our journey, to turn the impossible into the possible.
Today, we stand on the precipice of hope, our hearts heavy with gratitude and anticipation. But our journey is far from over. The road to Shahzain’s survival may be paved with uncertainty, but with your help, we refuse to let fear dictate our path. Together, we can give Shahzain the gift of life he so desperately deserves."
