Story
Hello all, Aidan here.
On April 11th, World Parkinson's Day we will be taking on a walk from my flat in Stirchley, Birmingham all the way to The Rainbow Inn in Allesley, Coventry. I looked up this walk on one random evening in the pub and thought (not after one too many) that the walk in front of me could be done, it was doable.
Not too long after I had had this thought our mother, Julie, was diagnosed with early stage Parkinson's. A keen fundraiser herself, Mum helped to raise upwards of £1500 pounds for the Alzheimer's Society with her singing group with a sponsored walk last summer. So you can see where the inspiration came from.
The walk will be a challenge for sure but with the support of a good few of our friends and donations from people, we'll be sure to be beaming across the finish line, the very pub where I did that original search on my phone.
Parkinson's UK isn't a charity that waits for change, it makes it happen as it looks to drive for better care, quality of life and treatments for those that have to face this condition and it was the first choice of Mum when we discussed fundraising options.
As always, donations and contributions of all shapes and sizes are appreciated. We understand how hard times can be for people at the moment so each step that gets us closer to our goal will be met with gratitude.
Thank you for reading, lets get fundraising!
