In memory of John Aitken
Story
Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I have organised and will challenge myself to run a Marathon to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart, the JMA Trust.
The JMA Trust was set up in memory of John Aitken, AKA Mr Nice Guy. John died in 2014 after a long battle with blood cancer. I was only 11 at the time of his passing, but I remember John as a fun, positive, and infectious person. The attached link at the bottom of this post from the annual JMA charity dinner in 2024 talks more about John, and why the JMA Trust was set up.
The JMA’s fundraising theme this year is “Raising Family Fortunes”. As such, I have personally organised a Marathon Route that incorporates several key locations between Lockerbie and Annan that connect the Kevans family to the Aitken family. I have set out to complete this run on 19/06/25, what would have been John’s 44th Birthday.
