On Sunday I will be running my first ever marathon distance during the London Marathon. I have chosen to raise funds for Advantage Africa, a small local charity, making real changes in eastern Africa for vulnerable people affected by poverty, disability, and HIV.

They are run out of Olney and particularly focus on poor communities within Kenya and Uganda. A handful of Advantage Africa's projects are enabling:

- Disabled children to access education,

- Single parents living with HIV to earn an income and care for their families,

- And people with albinism to protect themselves from life-threatening skin cancer,

- Along with many other projects detailed within their accounts and website,

They create lasting change and real hope for the future - and that's why I'm running for them.
