Story

A GCU select XI are heading to Perth for a challenge football match and we need your help to raise as much money as possible for SAMH.

We tragically lost our friend, captain and teammate Jamie Shuttleworth in 2021 after a battle with mental health.

In 2021 we raised over £5,000 for mental health charities by completing Movember and we are now looking to raise even more with a collection ahead of our game.

We kick started our yearly challenge match against Rothesay in 2022 and raised over £1,000 for charity. We then played in Dundee in 2023 and Edinburgh in 2024 raising even more for SAMH.

Losing Jamie was a really tough time for us all, because he meant so much to each and every one of us.

Jamie encouraged everyone in our team to speak about their mental health, just as he did so candidly. We owe it to him to raise some money in his memory.

We want to thank everyone who has donated so far and if you haven’t already please give anything you can. We appreciate the support greatly.
